Cornerstone Chess Challenge

I attended the Cornerstone Chess Challenge on February 23, 2008. It was a great tournament and I had 4 wins out of 5. I lost only to a 5th grader who won the National Championship in May 2007 and I beat a 6th grader whose rating is 225 points higher than me. It was really fun and I took 5th Place in Grade 4-6 Open on tiebreaks.

My New Look!

I picked up my first pair of glasses from the optometrist's office on January 21, 2008. I was happy I could see better in the classroom and I was excited when my friends told me I looked cool with my new glasses! To complete the new look, I had a new hairdo. It's short and a little spiky but I like it!

Field Trip to Olympia

Our class went on a field trip to Olympia on February 8, 2008. I was so excited about riding the school bus and my Dad was able to come with me! We visited the State Capital and learned about the 3 parts of the Government. I also volunteered to pose as a defense lawyer in a trial in the Supreme Court, which may well be a slight indication of my potential career path! It was such an awesome and fun learning trip, I love it!!

Book Report

I read a biography about E.B. White in January 2008. He had written many award winning children's books and poems. Among them, I like to read Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little and The Trumphet of the Swam. It was so fun to pose as E.B. with props and made an oral book report in front of my class and teacher!!

My Best Buddy!

My best friend is Tristin. We know each other since we were in pre-kindergarten. We are not in the same class at school this year but we are able to see each other almost everyday. We are both Cub Scouts and we play chess together. I call him my twin brother with a different set of parents! When we grow up, we will move in together for college! That should be really fun!
